Although Home Security Barriers may seem to be very simple there are actually several types of these available in the market made to fit different needs. the main types of security barriers are the: curve security barrier, folding security barrier, and the standard barriers. standard security barriers are barriers that lift and fall as one straight bar needing much clearance above the actual barrier. folding security barriers are barriers whose bar is divided in half. the bar folds in the middle as the half of the bar connected to the post lifts to allow entry. when fully lifted the folding security barrier looks like a lifted standard bar broken in half with the far end fully collapsed. curve security barriers like folding security barriers are divided in half and operate in the same way. however when curve security barriers are fully lifted the half of the bar connected to the post sticks straight up while the other half is left perpendicular to the first half. both the folding and curve security barriers are suitable for areas where there are low height clearances.

aside from the three main types of security barriers with the improvements in technology there are now digital bar barriers and high speed barriers available. many security barriers whether standard security barriers, curve security barriers, or folding security barriers instead of being manual barrier gates are now automatic gates. due to the automation security barriers can now open and close simply with the use of electronic keypads and using push buttons. access control using push buttons are usually done by toll booth, ticketing personnel, or guards monitoring security cams or doing identity checks. access control using keypads are done by the people riding the vehicles themselves. this type of access control is also a very effective security measure since authorized people will be the only ones who know the security key.
